Orangutans are great apes, as opposed to monkeys, and are closely related to humans, having 97% of DNA in common. But their habitat is disappearing at an alarming rate.

The Orangutan Project was established in 1998 by founder and world-renowned orangutan expert, Leif Cocks, as a result of his almost 30 year career working with orangutans.

Join us for this unique opportunity to hear Leif Cocks of The Orangutan Project speak about these amazing apes and what we can do to help preserve their habitat.

Tea and cookies will be served. Kids are welcome and encouraged to attend with their parents or caregivers.

Instructor: Leif has been a key player in developing conservation plans for orangutans and influencing positive change for orangutan protection and survival. This respect has given The Orangutan Project world standing in conservation, and allows Leif to successfully negotiate conservation agreements with the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry and other government officials. Leif is an activist, public speaker, academic and author.

This is a joint presentation with Windsor House School. Images courtesy of The Orangutan Project.
