Let’s face it, we’re all basically flying by the seat of our pants, most of the time. But what if we could say, “I meant to do that”, and kind of mean it? Basic improvisation skills can help you in you social life, work life, school life. Besides that, improvisation is fun. Come find out what improv is all about in this hands on evening with award winning actor and playwright Alison Kelly. You’ll laugh, and probably learn something useful.
Dinner and supplies are included in the cost of the class.

Instructor: You may know Alison from Mom’s the Word…that incredibly hilarious and award winning play that just keeps coming back for more laughing. Alison Kelly has been making her living as an actor, a comedian, a writer and theatre instructor for the past thirty years. As an actor she has performed across Canada and as far afield as Australia. She is one of the original creator/performers of the award winning, internationally acclaimed Mom’s The Word trilogy: Mom’s The Word, Mom’s The Word: Unhinged and Mom’s The Word: Nest 1/2 Empty. As well, Alison has written or co-written five other shows (Conversations With My Mother, The Day Before Christmas, This is 50, Wince, The Stayfresh Special and Dead But Not Forgotten) and is one of the creators of the comedy website series Rantingparent (Vimeo). As an educator, Alison has taught ages 3 – 73 through schools, Continuing Education, private workshops, PIXAR Canada, the Vancouver Film School and Studio 58. Alison is a proud graduate of Studio 58.
