Place:     The Mergatroid Building; 975 Vernon Drive in East Vancouver (upstairs)

This class is for players who are comfortable with the basic bum-diddy strumming pattern, as well as basic chords in the G tuning (G, C, and D). We will learn a couple of fun tunes, and along the way we will cover left hand techniques (hammer on, pull off, and slide) as well as advanced right hand techniques (double thumb and drop thumb).
Please bring your own 5-string banjo (if you’d like to borrow one, please contact me ahead of time to confirm that I have one available.)

Kidspace optional: $10/child (refreshments and activities for your child for the duration of your workshop).

Instructor: Paul, also known to kids up and down the westcoast as Professor Banjo, has been playing clawhammer banjo for audiences big and small for more than 15 years. He has taught banjo at Nimble Fingers, the Olympia Old Time Festival, and Dare to be Square West, and has taught ukulele to kids at St. James Music Academy.
