Why become a member?

When we say, we can’t do this without you, we really mean…we can’t do this without you! You come to shop, to teach, and to learn. You come to make and connect. You are The Learnary.

As a non-profit society, we depend on our Sustaining Members to help us grow our ideas into reality. Our Voting members contribute valuable skills and help to choose (and even serve on) the Board of Directors every year. All members help us set directions and stay on track.

Sustaining Membership

When you become a Sustaining Member, you become part of this grand adventure and support the work we’re doing in your community.

And, while we work to get our learning space up and running, we're offering a special deal on membership...

For Fall 2018, an annual Sustaining Membership is $10 for youth (aged 15 to 21), $15 for adults (22 and over), or $50 for a family (two adults and three youth). Get it while it's hot!

Sustaining Members receive discounts at special member days in store; membership pricing on workshops, access to discussion groups and resource libraries for homeschoolers and educators, and more!

To become a member:

  1. Complete the application form
  2. Pay your fee
  3. Wait for confirmation of your membership within one week of your submission!

Voting membership

Voting Membership is based on active participation in the society. To qualify for Voting Membership you must apply for membership and have contributed 12 or more volunteer hours in a year.

Accessibility

Accessibility is important to us. Please note, however, that we are in an old building with limitations.

The Learnary Storefront is on one level.

The front entrance door is 34” wide. There is a short slope outside the front door which rises approximately 5” over 13".

Our bathroom is approximately 57” x 60”.  To access, you need to pass through three doorways. The smallest has a width of 26”. The bathroom is non-gendered.

Our back door (private entrance) has five wooden steps.
