Small Adventures Journal: A Little Field Guide for Big Discoveries in Nature
by Keiko Brodeur
We love this book for slowing down and noticing the world around us. We often find ourselves recommending it for a retirement gift or way for a family or individual to slow down and connect. One of our favourite activities: go outside to the same place a few times a day, notice the sky, and draw a picture of it. The paper of the the book feels great, and the pictures are very beautiful and mature. Most of the activities in this book can be done from your block/immediate neighbourhood.
From the publishers:

Fully illustrated-with visual reference pages, checklists, and more-the journal packs in tons of drawing and writing prompts to document discoveries made as close as the front steps.
