GIFT CERTIFICATES

For those times when you just can't get to us. When you purchase a gift certificate online, we will send you a valid certificate by email within two working days.

Please let us know if it's a rush order and we'll do our best to get it to you sooner.

Maker Kits

We have a selection of kits for making things at home (or in the shop). These have been created for:

adults to learn and make
kids to learn and make (with maybe a little adult help)
kids and adults to learn and make together

We regularly showcase our kits with in-store workshops and demonstrations, so check out our schedule to see what's happening soon.

Books

Intergenerational Exploration: Beautiful books with both pictures and content for people of all ages to explore together
Education: Focus on alternative, unschooling, home learning, curriculum, philosophy, and youth empowerment
Community: books to inspire building and celebrating inclusive, participatory community.
Activity Books: our favourite books on ways to inspire curiosity through exploration for adults, children, and families.
Visual Books: a lovely little collection that emphasizes people making things and being curious together.

Games & Curiosities

We know how hard it can be to find games for all ages to play together. We’ve chosen a selection of games that can be played by kids, adults, or kids and adults together. We also bring in games with an educational twist. But more than anything, all our games are fun!

We’re curious folks. So when we discover something fun that makes us go ‘hmmmm!’, we just have to share it with you. These items are great for sparking conversations or sharing curiosity with others.

Tools and Supplies

We’re sourcing the best tools and equipment for you and your family to make things on your own. Think child-sized scissors that actually cut (!) and other wish-you-had items.

We want you to be able to leave the store with everything you need to get started.

Accessibility

Accessibility is important to us. Please note, however, that we are in an old building with limitations.

The Learnary Storefront is on one level.

The front entrance door is 34” wide. There is a short slope outside the front door which rises approximately 5” over 13".

Our bathroom is approximately 57” x 60”. To access, you need to pass through three doorways. The smallest has a width of 26”. The bathroom is non-gendered.

Our back door (private entrance) has five wooden steps.
